Feature 2 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 2.0, 1 x HDMI and VGA ports

From reviewer d54:

"RAM has a hatch for easy upgrading (see photo), and there's an empty slot available to add another stick. Remove the little circular plug cover to expose a screw, then you can remove the cover.

HDD is not easy to replace. There is a video on youtube titled "Asus F555L Disassembly for Hard Disk Replacement" that shows how, but it's not as easy as it could be, unfortunately. It appears that the lower cover is structural now, so be careful when you take it apart."

Great laptop for the price. I've used this exact one already.

Pros:

Decent speed for stock specs (could use an SSD)

Beautiful 1080P screen

Nice build quality for the price and pretty slim

Sound is actually very good and louder than normal

Cons:

Keyboard isn't the greatest, but works fine

Viewing angles of the screen suck, looks fantastic head-on but can't see anything from the sides or minor angles

Got one as well...

I have to say, the new methods for installing SSDs is a MAJOR pain. Basically popping the bezel and keyboard all the way, unhooking cables for trackpad and keyboard, then accessing the drive. It is sooo much nicer when they have the slides the go in and out without disassembling the whole machine. Definitely needs an SSD though, as the slow spinner makes it quite painful.

It'd be nice if they could manage at least a 7200rpm spindle on laptops.

Got one of these for the wife.

Beautiful crystal clear screen (after tweaking display settings in windows 10), but the viewing angles are fairly poor. The system is fast and responsive even with 4GB of ram. Add an additional 8 gig stick and a SSD, and this thing will fly.

My wife edits photos with light room on it, and it gets the job done well.

The 4 GB RAM is soldered in...so no matching pairs. You can get a total of 12 GB however.

As mentioned earlier, the HDD isn't convenient to get at, but if you're the type of person that ATOT usually attracts, you will be fine.

Here's a link to a discussion thread on slick deals about this particular model. There's some good info and links to the HDD removal video.

Dannar, did you notice how nice the sound is for a laptop as well?

I found the sound to be nice and loud and clear which is unusual for a budget laptop.

Probably wouldn't be worth a mention if it weren't for the 1080 screen, but that at $350 makes this a decent budget laptop deals...good enough for most people doing basic web/office.

Thanks OP. look like a good deal

Pros:

Decent speed for stock specs (could use an SSD) - Why not you should be easy to replace the hard drive.

Beautiful 1080P screen

Nice build quality for the price and pretty slim

Sound is actually very good and louder than normal

Cons:

Keyboard isn't the greatest, but works fine (interesting to know)

Viewing angles of the screen suck, looks fantastic head-on but can't see anything from the sides or minor angles

i3 + 1080p screen + an actual DVD drive makes this a winner

Also USB 3.0, HDMI + VGA, and an Ethernet port...very nice for $350!
