I once knew this dude who claimed he could get into a trance and raise up out of his body. Once me and a friend watched him as he tried this.

After he was done this particular projection he claimed that he came out the top of his head in a corkscrew fashion, and had proceeded to travel along the Roosevelt Blvd jumping from street light to street light. He said he's been able to do this since he was a kid, but couldn't really control where he 'went'.

I was disturbed by the implications of being a spirit separate from your body: reincarnation, ghosts, God ?

This guy never seemed to me to be the type to lie about stuff, and I never saw him engage in any type of hallucinogenic pharmacopoeia.

I laugh every time I see people replying to posts like this one calling the unexplained BS. I had a nice long post typed out with personal experiences but I figured I wouldn't bore you all with the details. Unexplained things can happen... astral projection, esp, telekenesis, ghosts, whatever. Nobody believes until they see it themselves.

One good example I can think of...
Lets say you have a very real dream that you remember every detail of... a couple days later that dream comes true. Did you predict the future? How's that possible it's BS right? Maybe it was just deja vu? Well what if you kept a log of your dreams and found that little spurt of deja vu written down from a week or 2 ago? Then it's just a coincidence right? What happens if it happens repeatedly?

A google search for astral projection comes up with 75,000 results. Obviously somebody out there has to believe.
