Has anyone ever done this project before? Every month I get my Verizon phone bills and my stomach just turns. It is my understanding that this Linux PBX Software will allow me to convert to a VOIP system. If I can go VOIP I then can dump Verizon. The reason why I want dump Verizon is because there is no competition around here and one is basically forced to subscribe to their high rates and fees. I am looking for a mini hardware list that is needed to get this project working.
Any ideas? If anyone is in the Seattle area I would be amendable to paying someone to build the system for me.
Later,
Charles
Summary what I want to do:
Dump my 3 Verizon Lines with Voice Mail and move to a VOIP System. Replace Verizon Voice Mail with a computerized Voice Mail System. Set up an unlimited VOIP calling plan to Asia (runs about $35.00 a month from what I hear. My current bandwidth is a Cable Modem, but I can bring in a T1 to justifiy this project.
