Good deal for a cheap home recorder.
Shizza, I just realized I paid almost 300 for my Pioneer:shocked:

This looks tempting. I have a qustion though, I want to use this with a television that has no input/output jacks at all. From what I see in the photographs, I can just swap out the VCR and use this instead. Is that correct?

The output format does not include CVBS. You might need to buy an RF modulator for your TV from composite output of the unit. Local RS should have one.

What does one do with USB port built into this recorder?
According to the owners manual on the Astar site, the port is on the front, and you can plug in usb thumb drives. This will let you browse and play MP3, WMA, and JPG files from the drive. I guess that's kinda cool, I wonder if it works with USB card readers too?
