Thought you might be interested in message i sent to Asus today ,seeing as a number of people seem to be having the same problem? anyone got any solutions yet?
Bob
(On attempting to install a replacement motherboard,CPU and GPU to my system , the system recognises all devices, memory Hard Drives Disk drives etc and allows me to boot from Cd to reinstall windows, after formatting the drive (Full Format) the system hangs on re-boot, it can "see" the IDE drives and from windows start-up is able to see that Windows Xp is installed but refuses to boot from HD, I changed the memory for 512 of 2700 DDR and the system booted once, from looking at various forums on the web , it appears I'm not alone with this problem, I've ordered a SATA drive to attempt to overcome the problem, but it does seem ASUS have a problem with this system booting IDE drives please comment and advise what actions I can take, I've built a fair number of machine ,and I'm confident that I've done all I can with the BIOS settings
