How hard would it be to move to and work in another country, say moving from the US to a country in Europe like England? Assume you already have a passport and pay enough to live there from the job offered and the company pays the relocation costs.

If you have a work visa, and all costs covered, it would be as hard as moving all of your shit and yourself over there.

it will be easy. it counts as intra-company transfer. UK tier 2 is specific for this.

What does tier 2 mean? Please explain. I haven't ever applied for a Visa or worked in another country before. I know the initial question sounds stupid but I'm clueless about the whole process.

Most of the work was handled by the company, I got the job and then they informed me of the necessary applications that I needed to fill out. Once I received my visa, I plastered it into my passport and that was all I needed. In terms of moving, I came with two suitcases, a laptop and a backpack, that was all that I brought but I can't imagine the costs and work that you would have to do to ship your belongings out.

EDIT: Banking was a real headache. I had a colleague arrange for a flat before I arrived, I went from the airport to the realtor's. Problem is, I had no foreign notes to pay the half month's rent for the realtor plus first, last and deposit month's rents for the landlord. Now the bank was a problem because I had to prove employment and residence, so I needed a copy of my lease and a copy of my employment contract certified by my employer. But to get a flat I need money but to get money here I need to transfer to a local bank account to get a local bank account I need a flat....

In the end, I had to have my colleague float me the money and my landlord let me pay a few days later. But it was just a headache in that I have money, I just couldn't get it in a useable form out here.
