How would I go about finding someone to assume my lease on my '02 Grand AM GT?

don't do it... you (and your credit) will be responsible if the person you give the lease to decides he doesn't want to pay anymore.

Don't lease automobiles unless you are in business and can write off the lease. Leases are the debbil!

I have seen people trying to sell their leases before in newspapers in the classified section. I presume you can do it free and clear to remove yourself from any liability. Of course the lease-lender would have to approve that based on the buyer's credit and what not. That's a hassel and perhaps can't even be done in which case you would be liable (in which case obviously you would never do that).

I have seen people trying to get rid of their leases in newspapers though.

Basically it's a huge hassel - why do you want to get rid of this lease? In the future leasing = bad with damn near no flexbility!
