Assload of fighter jets

This morning at school, I heard a freakin assload of fighter jets, looked up, saw at LEAST 8 fighters coming from the general direction of MacDill AFB, 5 minutes later 6 or 7 more flew by, anyone else notice?

Probably correct - any bases near the path of the hurricane are having their planes moved.

Hmmm, were these from MacDill or elsewhere? They were flying too low to be from Key West.

The Navy evacuated aircraft from Naval Air Station Key West, including 26 F-18 Hornet fighter jets and a cargo plane. The aircraft were headed to bases in the northern part of the state, Navy officials said. Base personnel will be evacuated on Friday, the officials said.

Eh - well, they move the planes for anything greater than a tropical storm (which is understandable - when you're dealing with multi-million dollar equipment).
