Well first off, i'd like to emphasize to future computer builders how important it is to truly kno ur stuff before building a custom computer. Dear god did i have a nightmare of a time.

Now, to my problem =) I just picked up a 1.4 Ghz T-bird with all the essentials and booted it up. Everything went fine till I noticed how ridiculously hot the case was. I have a GlobalWin CAK38 HSF fan in there along with 3 other case fans...

isn't that enough? The CPU's runnin at 50 + celcius and the mobo at about 40... tha't ridiculous..

Anyone mind telling me how i can remedy this? Keep in mind ihave like... 4 total fans in my system... if that's not enough, then i'll be damned.

Thanks!!!

First thing is first a 1.4 ghz tbird produces 73 watts or so of heat for one.

now you have a good heat sink on your CPU that should be good enough. What thermal compound are you using, and what direction are your case fans blowing, and brand or do you know the specs on those fans.

Whats your ambient room temperature? In the summer my idle temps go up 5° or so, try cooling your room off.

50C for the CPU is not ridiculous for a 1.4 at all, but 40C is very high for the case temp.

Open up your case and try that, also try a house fan blowing on it...if your room temps are high though, then so will those temps! I suggest getting an Air Conditioner if your room temp is 40c! 🙂 😀

Are you sure you're getting good contact between the HSF and the CPU? As pointed out above, what thermal compound are you using?

Things you need to make sure to ensure proper cooling:
1. HSF blowing into the HS.
2. Use Thermal paste rather than thermal tape or frag tape.
3. Case fans should be configured and placed as follows:
-1 located lower front case blowing into the case.
-2 located either upper rear or side sucking from the case
4. There should be no other openings on the case except for the case fans in and out ports, as this create a short circuit of the air circulation.
5. Normal AMD temps runs between 40-50 C. Normal case or mobo temps are 3-5 degrees above ambient temp.😎
