what do you guys think?

Or we can start a few more miniteams where there are no existing teams. I was pondering that for some of the gaming buddies of mine

We could get the members of a currently existing team to join ours(either in a mini-team or alone), but the blocks allready cracked are tied to that old team, and cannot be transfered in any way.:(

oh it's fine that their previous blocks don't count for us, that's part of the game! the point is, are we allowed to do it?

are there ethics that I am overlooking, like so many others have pointed out on other posts of mine?

the reason being, I just asked the Canadian Team, who is in the overall top 100, and crack at a rate of about 100 000 blocks a day. I'd say, that kind of assimilation would be quite something eh?
here are their stats for yesterday

Ethics?? We don't need no....:p

More seriously, you can't "spam" them via email to persuade them to switch to TA. If you already have some kind of "in" with someone on the team and can convince them to compete as a team within TeamAnandTech, I think that would be great. :D

Ya, Dnet specificly prohibits trying to spam someone into joining your team. Like it was said, you have[/v] to be an insider.:(

Fine then, someone create a new account, start a lowly comp cracking for them, then you're technically part of the team, eh? Sheesh, I am shifty.

NOTE: I think the above idea I just made is wrong, and don't condone it in anyway.

yikes! well I guess there goes that idea..

oh EDIT:

the guy I sent the e-mail to responded, he basically said he doesn't control the team, though he will see what the members think, and that he's familiar with the Anandtech forums..

we have spies in our midst?? hehe.. now I know why I can't get anyone to join our team in these forums, they're already on OTHER teams!

It would be cool to have the Canadian team as a mini team. Hell, I'll join them if they become a part of TA. It'll be good competetion to the TA cube. :)

How about they simply switch their addy to rc5@tacube.com? No fuss, painless, instant Canadian kickass as TA Cube goes to 230kblocks per day. :) I am not allowed to contact them for recruitment, but I give them permission to contact me if they feel like it, ergo no spam on their part. I shall however, send them a message simply congratulating them on their Canadian spirit. After all, I AM CANADIAN!!! :)
