Assimilation failure

In a failed attemt to assimilate a system to my herd I encountered the following error after installing my client:

***STOP: 0x0000001A (0x00041284, 0x02DE6000, 0x00000726, 0xC0502000 MEMORY_MANAGMENT

The system is a K6-2 500 Running Win2k. I checked the distributed net FAQ and found nothing.

I will break this machine, but may need the resources of the Cube to do so.

"From this day forward, you will service... Us."

Try underclocking the CPU to see if you still get the error. If not, you might have a CPU at it's limits.

I have a K6-2 500 in my herd, a HP of all things, and it does rc5 without problems. 😕

Off course, it has 192MB RAM running W98. Maybe yours has only 32 or 64MB running W2K. 🙁

There may be something running resident that is using the memory address space that the client wishes to occupy. Try closing some of the stuff that comes up in the task list.

Jay's suggestion is also excellent. Another thing to check is the CPU temp itself, both at idle and when giving it a workout.

The system is running with 64mb ram, but it has an identical twin brother running the client with no problems. I'll go through the task list and kill of any unnecessary tasks and check the temp. I'll let you know what I get.

Thanks for the help.
