I'm waiting for Project Cars, but it won't be out until March. Assetto Corsa is a good driving sim, at $24.99USD, I might have to add it to the collection.

How good is it for single player, very casual, Keyboard/Mouse?

The single player is well worth the price, especially at the sale price. You can play it with a keyboard and mouse, but a basic controller, like an Xbox controller, makes it more fun.

What did I ever do to you? I've got enough, and now I want this.:) I just don't like 'serious' racing sims. The one I've liked is Burnout Paradise (on the PS3).

I've already spent over $100 at the Steam sale so I know the feeling.

If you are looking for more arcade type racing game, you might see how much GRID Autosport is. Assetto Corsa is a bit more of a realistic sim, but I wouldn't let that scare you off. The level you race at is up to you. I enjoy a full on racing sim, that's why I think I may wait for Project Cars. If you owned both Assetto Corsa and Project Cars, the odds are pretty good Assetto Corsa would not see much use.

It's tough to recommend GRID over Assetto Corsa if they are about the same price. With Assetto Corsa at the $25 sale price, you are getting a lot of game for your money.

Worth every penny. But get this, you will likely want to buy a logitech driving wheel soon after playing this game. So factor in an additional 2 hundy.

I got the Logitech "MOMO FORCE" wheel over a decade ago, I think it was selling for about $200 at the time, but haven't opened it; any idea how it is for today's games?

Hm, just looked it up on Amazon, there is one new available for $300, and six used starting at $150. Guess it's held its value (until I open it especially), says ok for Win 7.

The Logitech website says no drivers are needed for the MOMO Force so it probably uses standard Windows controller drivers, should work with most games.

Burnout Paradise is on sale now for $4.99. It's a classic open world, arcade racing game. It's an EA game on Steam so read the fine print carefully, but for $5, it's not much of a risk.

I've got the same wheel, it works fine but it's definitely a no-frills solution.

That being said, I never understood why people suggest playing Burnout Paradise with a wheel. It was designed to be played with a gamepad, you need to turn from one extreme to another within fractions of a second to stay on the track at those arcade-y speeds; I'm sure I'm not the only one that recommends a 360 controller for that game.

Yeah I got it about a year ago for $30, it still has a way to go but at least they added career.

The game is still VERY stingy with the XB360 controller, gotta really play with the steering settings to get it right.

I have both Assetto Corsa and Project Cars. They are both full on racing sims. Asseto Corsa seems to simulate a lot more things in the car than Project Cars.

If you don't have a wheel don't bother with either one really. Asseto Corsa seems to have full mod support which is a big plus in my book.

I've played Assetto Corsa and I have an early release of Project Cars. Keeping in mind that Project Cars is not a finished product, I prefer Project Cars. It is a tremendously detailed game and there is a lot of room for improvement and expansion. I wouldn't mind a nice wheel(not a crap Thrustmaster), but I can play with a controller just fine.

My main worry is that Microsoft will buy out Slightly Mad Studios, the same way they bought out Turn 10, junk Forza, which seems to be losing customers left and right, then call Project Cars "Project Forza" or "Forza Cars" and bleed the life out of it the same way they did the Forza franchise.

GRID Autosport is $9.99, 75% off.

Should be a racing game deal for everybody

I wish I read this before I bought it.

this. I downloaded the beta version to try it out and ended up buying a logitech driving force gt wheel. highly addictive.
don't bother trying to play it with an joypad, it's a real sim meant to be played with a wheel. very very realistic, awesome game.
