Assembly question, IO plate.

I just started to assemble my PC and installed the IO plate that came with my motherboard into my case. However my IO plate has these little notches, these little steel notches that come out of all the ports. They get in the way of putting in my motherboard. Do I break them off or what?

The manual says nothing. :(

They can be a pain, but you do want to leave them there if you can. They help hold the IO shield firmly in place and I think they give a grounding point for the motherboard. Just be careful and take your time putting the motherboard in. You can try looking through the holes in the IO shield to help you align the motherboard correctly so that installing it is easier.
