Assembly? CPU tmep sensor placment on Sckt 939

Ok, my thermaltake case has a cpu temp sensor, and the maul shows an older stlye AMD chip as exmaple, placing the sensor in the middle between the pins, but socket939 is solid, so where should i put it? on top in between CPu and heatsink (wouldnt that interupt contact between HS and CPU?), or where, im not sure where i should place it on a 939.....

cut it at the tip and heatshrink it. my advice.

Definatly DO NOT put it between the heatsink and the CPU, that will not allow the heatsink to have correct contact with the CPU. Put the sensor somewhere else and use it to monitor case temp instead is my advice.

is there anyway to monitor AMD64 temps w/ hardware?

maybe ill attach it to the Harddrive....heheheor maybe on hte vdieo card somewhere

I put my heat probe in the heatsink fins and it is only about 2 degrees celcius off.
