assembling pc right now, have questions

currently trying to install cpu heatsink/fan, zalman cnps9700... instructions aren't completely helpful, how do i know if cpu is horizontal or vertical orientation?

motherboard is GA-P35-DS3L
 
how do i know to plug in hda or ac97 front audio, case has both, motherboard manual says it supports both intel hda and ac97

look for the gold triangle on one corner of the cpu and match it with the corresponding corner of the socket.

the cpu should only fit one way into the socket without force
 
Horizontal is when the zalman is blowing air towards the cack of your case. Vertical is when it's blowing towards the top.

That's if you are talking about the heatsink.
