Hi, I just copleted my first ever build! YIPEE!😀 All the parts are done. I am now planning on buying Windows XP PRO. What do I do next? Just turn on the PC and put in the disk? Or when I turn it on, will BIOS come up? Can anyone help me by telling me what to do in BIOS? and after BIOS, whats next? THANKS

If you need to set anything in the BIOS it might be CPU settings but they should be autodetected just fine. You may need to set the boot order so it boots from the CD. Other than that, you should leave everything the way it is until you're sure everything is working fine.

It depends on your h/w setup, but lets just assume everything is basically ready to go. If you power it up and it posts, that's success # 1. Hit delete to enter your bios and fiddle around as necessary - your fiddling will depend on your config as previously mentioned. Default boot order will most likely be Floppy, HDD and then CD-ROM. You can change it up if you wish but if there is no boot info on your HDD I think it just continues onto the CD-ROM. If your XP CD is in there it will go into setup and you're off to the races. enjoy
