these are the fvcknuts who give eBay a bad name. I've gotten so many good/legit deals on eBay but this stuff pisses me off to no end.

Yeah HLM is Hoodlum. I buy a lot of import games from Ebay for much cheaper than you can get them retail. Until now, they've all been actual imports, not bootlegs.

There's a big difference btwn selling pirated software on Ebay, and having an arcade emulator. Each of my roms are either legally free or I own the console port. And that's not my deleted feedback btw, please read the thread first.

I saw Psychonauts for PC at Gamestop in the mall last weekend, it was only $20 brand new, so it's not like this was a suspiciously hot deal.

Just because the items you bought before weren't obviously pirated before doesn't mean they weren't pirated. Some places have gotten quite good at packaging and distributing pirated goods. In particular, movies that are "imports" that are cheaper with different packaging are almost always illegal pirated goods.

Items for sale

Over 300 games sold since June 05 and they were ALL bootlegs. I bought Psychonauts off him for $14 shipped, and I wouldn't have ever even noticed it was a bootleg copy if I hadn't tried to patch the game, which resulted in an error message saying Psychonauts was not installed.

WTF says me, and I do some snooping around in the files on my HD and on the CDs. Turns out Psychonauts comes on 5 CD-ROMs, the game I received came on 2. The Setup file on the CD is a grand total of 297KB and there's a setup-1 BIN file totaling 657MB. Screen

But it get's better, in the Psychonauts program files folder, there's a file called "hlm-intro" which opens a video clip that actually gives credit to the guy that cracked the game RIGHT IN the fvcking folder. Screen

And the CDs I was sent have absolutely no protection whatsoever. I burned a copy of the game using the Windows XP wizard, and it installs without a hitch.

He's only been accused of selling bootlegs once which resulted in the buyer withdrawing his negative feedback? I'd like to know the story behind that one. It's easy not to notice cause the majority of games he sells are single player games. I wouldn't have even been able to tell if I hadn't seen everything described above. He's also got a little disclaimer thing going on about there being no updates and no online play with "these versions". Right, cause fvcking Russians don't believe in updates and mulitplayer? I didn't even notice that line when I bought the game to be honest.

I wanna run this guy into the fvcking ground, it pisses me the fvck off that he's making money at the cost of some media and packaging materials off the hardwork of the developers of all these games. And he's doing it right under Ebay's nose cause most people just don't know what they're buying from this fvckface.

I've gotta wait till August 6th to file a dispute with Ebay. I don't just want my money back I wanna see this guy banned. You guys think I have enough evidence to do so? It'd be nice to see his ass get sued by the numerous companies he's fvcking over too.

What kind of info do you guys want? I've got a return address, I dunno how accurate that is but I don't think its necessary to post it. I got an e-mail back from Majesco:

'That sucks. I hate to see this stuff. We haven't released the game
overseas yet--it's still being localized. I forwarded onto our legal
dept to see what they could do. From the looks of it, he has a nice long
list of bootlegs he's selling as "Not Bootleg."

Thanks for the heads up.'

So hopefully they'll burn this guy. Not even released overseas yet, I wonder what his excuse would be then?

You should email back and say somthing about not being able to get the full enjoyment out of your game. Try to get a free disk out of this.
