Assassins Creed - Whoa...

sweet fancy moses that looks amazing. finally a game that will motivate me enough to buy a 360. but I would just prefer to see Thief remade with that engine.

This, BioShock & Gears of War will probably put a 360 in my livingroom next year. Although I do have a couple concerns about this game. It looks pretty, but the animation is super stiff, IMO. Also, I'm not totally sold on the gameplay being fun. Reading about the controls, a lot of it is contextual, and you just push an action button. The actual assassination and following battle looked pretty ridiculous when she was talking about the realism of the fight system...yeah, nothing more realistic than half a dozen guys standing around in a circle after you assassinated their leader or standing around while one at a time comes at you. But, I will definitely give it a try because I looooove the idea, setting, and art direction. The canned controls could actually work the opposite of my first impression and make it fun, kind of like the old adventure games...

omfg... this is my new most wanted game....
this is incredible..
now that is "nextgen".. and what I pictured.. that game is gonna rule..

as for gears of war... its looking more and more like just an average 3rd person shooter.. nothing that spectacular... I was jazzed about it till theystarted releasing all this footage and showing what looks to be an average shooter...

not what I was expecting from a flagship killer app title..

oh well AC will be amazing..


 
It does look damn good. There were a few clipping issues here and there, and the draw distance on the towns people didn't look very good, but in general looks hot. I must say the sword fighting sequence looked very interesting, wonder how the controls will work for that? One hit kills are also a good thing IMO.

They did a thing the other night where people got to play GoW after watching a screening of the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The reviews were very positive.
