Assassins Creed Crashing

I just bought Assassins Creed for my new Asus N61 laptop and every 5 minutes the game crashes and I have to shut down the computer. The system requirements lab in the link below says I can run it at recommended settings and I havent found a solution online yet. Does anyone else have this problem?

probably a heat problem, try using a chill pad see if that helps.
