Assassin's Creed 2 is almost unplayable on PC due to horrible LOD

Watch this video. I noticed it immediatly upon starting the game. I can't believe Ubi Soft didn't fix this!

uhhh yea..

#1 the game is 5 years old, no one cares anymore.

#2 while I cant remember anything too horrible on the pc version, it might have been that way because performance was still an issue with open world games back then and we probably didn't notice things being lower resolution over AC1 because there was far more texture work displayed. Console versions could have looked less worse because the 720p resolution hides it.

#3 or it could be a bug that has cropped up in the past couple of years and the game is far too out of date to patch.

Stop obsessing over the graphics and enjoy the game? AC 2 was a classic at release, a very good game.

If you enter a game with the mindset of nitpicking over textures and LOD, ESPECIALLY for a 5 year old game , you're doing it wrong. The gameplay is what matters. I loved AC2 (and brotherhood even more so). But if you're only obsessed with nitpicking over stupid stuff (instead of quality gameplay), yeah, doing it wrong.

AC1 and AC2 were both terrible console ports. Every AC since Brotherhood has looked great (or at least better than the console version) on PC. I mean, yeah, that's not a great excuse when it comes to those games, but they're very old now and they aren't going to be fixed. Get over it.
