Assassin's Creed 2 Codexes...

I guess I finished the main story but I can't enter the Codex room, however the maps will show where they are now...

Is it worth chasing them down to do the last memory sequence or should I start playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood...?

It's worth getting all the codices and doing the final sequence. I don't want to spoil anything, but it takes place in a completely unique area that is inaccessible at any other point in the game. The actual climax is a bit "meh," and the story goes silly as AC tends to do, but it's still worth playing through.
