sounds similar to that 30 year old evicted from his Parents house.
Internet turned off, no TV, no radio and no contact allowed with anyone but his lawyer, whose phone is either checked or restricted while visiting Assange

https://www.google.com/amp/www.dail...Julian-Assange-leave-Ecuador-embassy-day.html

Also sounds like Jeff Sessions has a hard on with the potential to Arrest Assange.
Wonder what the President thinks?
I don't think I could stand to be stuck in a place like that for 6 months let alone 6 years.

Recent change but I agree sounds like Assange is locked or restricted to one room, without a window and zero entertainment.
May as well be in jail at least you get some TV time.

However he is 100% accountable for this. I’m even willing to shelve the election and Iraq stuff. He is staying as a guest and he’s tweeting out support for separatists in Spain, why make life difficult for your host? Dumb, arrogant move.

Sweden should have passed a trial in absentia law long ago so we can rightfully call him a convicted sexual assaulter rather than accused. Then he can claim all he wants that he’s hiding out as a “political prisoner” instead of the fugitive from justice he is,

Very ambivalent about the whole thing. I think the sex charges are likely invented, though.

For not using a condom?

Yeah, for not using a condom

"One of the women, named in court as Miss A, told police that she had arranged Assange's trip to Sweden, and let him stay in her flat because she was due to be away. She returned early, on Friday 13 August, after which the pair went for a meal and then returned to her flat.

Her account to police, which Assange disputes, stated that he began stroking her leg as they drank tea, before he pulled off her clothes and snapped a necklace that she was wearing. According to her statement she "tried to put on some articles of clothing as it was going too quickly and uncomfortably but Assange ripped them off again". Miss A told police that she didn't want to go any further "but that it was too late to stop Assange as she had gone along with it so far", and so she allowed him to undress her.

According to the statement, Miss A then realised he was trying to have unprotected sex with her. She told police that she had tried a number of times to reach for a condom but Assange had stopped her by holding her arms and pinning her legs. The statement records Miss A describing how Assange then released her arms and agreed to use a condom, but she told the police that at some stage Assange had "done something" with the condom that resulted in it becoming ripped, and ejaculated without withdrawing."

Sweden dropped the charge. Sounded like a weak case at best but Swedish law is weird from what I’ve read.

Another article went into England still wants him for not showing up to the Court regarding the Swedish charges. Sounded like in the US skipping a court date can get you into trouble even if you are found innocent of what the court date was for.

Incredibly flimsy reason for the amount of effort spent thus far, to keep him in effective prison for years now, and this whole ordeal to rest on. Thus no one believes that’s the reason. If I were Assange I’d absolutely see the writing 8n the wall that this about way more than taking his condom off.

Yeah, in the US, Failure To Appear on a felony carries a maximum two year sentence.

Having no fellow inmates in his current jail means nobody is trying to kill him...

My description could be off, I’m no expert in English law
No, you were right, Simply failing to appear, even if the charges were later dropped, can be a punishable offense, afaiu. That's why you need to at least send a lawyer in your stead if you can't appear.

Of course he'll be prosecuted for jumping bail. To do otherwise would be to just let him buy his way out like posting bail on an out of state traffic offense.

Yeah, we know, big conspiracy. Deep State shit. Scary.

He should ask Putin to get him out of the country somehow and he can join his buddy Vladi in mother Russia. Maybe he can do the world a favour and take Pamela with him.

Conspiracy, Deep state, whatever you want to call it. In regards to Assange and WikiLeaks I dont really think there is any denying there’s more behind the curtain.

And now (you can't make this stuff up) Assange is suing Ecuador for "violating his fundamental rights" because they want him to pay for his own expenses like food, medical and laundry, keep the spaces inside the embassy clean, and take care of his cat.

His lawyer accused the Ecuadorian government of "not doing enough."

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

I'd just boot him to the curb, after notifying any countries that might still be interested in him as to the exact time of his exit from the embassy.

If he doesn't like the accommodations he's free to leave at any time. How can someone violate your rights by not giving you enough amenities at a place you are choosing to inhabit?

As if that guy wasn't enough of an entitled asshole.

You beat me to the punch. Was going to post the news at Reuters:

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-for-better-asylum-terms-lawyer-idUSKCN1MT2A5

Assange is so brave, so noble, yet he has spent the better part of the last 6 years hiding underneath a rock. Wouldn't it be hilarious if he was evicted from the embassy ... and no one gave a rat's ass about it. It would be like he spent the last 6 years of his life on a self-imposed vacation in prison.

At this point only someone like Putin might take him in. If I were Assange, I'd hire a good food tester though ...

Skipping bail is contempt of court pretty much everywhere so the Brits will be on him like stink on shit when he steps out the door of the embassy. The major complication for the Ecuadorians is that he was granted Ecuadorian citizenship, making it awkward to just put him out. If they quit feeding him he'll really be screwed.
