ASRock Z77 Pro4 Onboard Realtek LAN Intermittently Disconnects

Hi guys, I just put together a build with the Z77 Pro4 and I'm having a lot of connection issues with the onboard Realtek Gigabit Ethernet controller. At random times, I would temporarily lose connection to my network for 10 - 20 seconds, then be reconnected. In the Network Connections panel, I see that the adapter would become "Disabled", then become re-enabled.

I can confirm that this is not an issue with my router, as I have bypassed the router to the same effect. The adapter also shouldn't become Disabled if it were a router side issue. I also don't believe it is a cable problem because my previous mobo was working fine with the current cable.

I'm currently using the latest Realtek 7058_05212012 driver package for Windows 7 64-bit. Does anyone have any ideas on a fix? Is this an issue that's been addressed in a firmware update?

As an aside, it seems like other people around the net are having similar problems with the Realtek controllers and Win 7.

Probably a bad port on the mobo. Might have to RMA to Asrock.

I can't help you, sorry. But I can say that I'm using the exact same motherboard with whatever BIOS came out of the box and I have no issues like that. My on board network adapter has operated 100% since I put the PC together. Like the poster above me stated, might be an RMA issue if you can't it squared away. And if you don't want to do than then an add-on PCI network card is something to consider. If it were me I would try a few different drivers before considering it a loss. I also might look at my lan cable but that wouldn't cause your adapter to show as being disabled, at least I don't think it could do that.

The disabled part sounds wierd. You sure you dont have a program or malware that messes with it.

Thanks for the input guys, I went ahead and switched the mobo out for an Xtreme4 which has a Broadcom controller. Works perfectly now!
