My bios clock has been freaking out and is all over the place. This makes windows time go well out of sync with actual time also.

To make matters worse, I can't get even 1day of system stability even just idle at the desktop.

Do I just need to change the battery on the mobo or RMA? Board is less than 1yr old.

Changing the battery is the easiest solution, but you may need to RMA. I had a 386 motherboard that had wacky timekeeping once, had to return it. They didn't believe me what was happening, until they put it on the bench to test it out.
