Question ASRock X370 Killer SLI issues with Updating Bios & Ram Speed

I'm having some trouble updating the bios.

I'm currently running P3.40 version, which needs P3.50 version installed, before updating to the latest version.

I am on this page from ASRock - https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X370 Killer SLI/index.asp#BIOS

And I've downloaded the 3.50 Instant Flash Bios File. I've put in on a USB Drive that I've formatted as Fat32. I have it in both the .zip and unzipped on the flash drive and I'm not getting any hits when I click on "instant flash" within the bios.

Any suggestions to help flash? When I click on the 'internet flash'.. the system tells me that there are no available updates to be made...

Please help me decipher this - am I only currently running at 931mhz? Or should I be multiplying this by 3 or 4 for the total true speed? Clocks and voltage way off? If I set to XMP2 the system will crash upon booting up - even if selecting the 2933mhz setting.

Link doesn't work but regardless, try a USB 2.0 port. The file should be unzipped if I recall, similar setup on my ASRock X370 board.

Make sure to revert defaults too.

The on-board flash utility (found within the bios setup screen) can sometimes be incapable of performing a proper bios flash update. However, the alternative option of using a bootable (to a DOS prompt) USB thumb drive, and flash from a DOS prompt. A bios update using the Windows flash utility should also be able to do the flash using a previously downloaded bios file.
Note: try updating to the current CPU-Z version: 1.87.
Note: some Asus boards include a special "bios flash update" button & USB port on the back panel, which can be used to perform a bios flash without any CPU present.

I was able to get this guy up to 5.1.. we're at 2933mhz at relaxed timings. Anything higher tends not to want to go...

What voltage is your RAM running at? Maybe try bumping it up a little - personally, I wouldn't go above 1.4V

I don't think it's the ram that needs the extra juice - if the chipset itself says that the rec speed is 2667 this is essentially an overclock - and correct me if I'm wrong- for the 'north? bridge'? Is there an option to overvolt the north bridge? Is that smart? Is there a safe voltage rec for overvolting the north?

Online manual isn't very thorough. OC Tweaker -> DRAM Configuration might have a setting for voltage.
