I just put together my new rig, and I hit DEL of course on first boot to go the the BIOS, then "Save and Exit".
However, every time the computer boots, it goes straight into the BIOS.
Thinking it was the keyboard, I swapped out the HP PS/2 keyboard for a Dell USB keyboard. Same thing.
So I grabbed a USB 2.0 flash drive with a bootable DOS shell on it, and plugged it in, turned it on, set the first boot option to boot the USB drive, and it booted. No BIOS.
I noticed that the first boot option, before I put the USB drive in, was "EFI shell".
Is this normal that the UEFI boots to BIOS every time, if you don't have a boot device selected otherwise?
