Current Rig:

Chaintech VNF3-250
Athlon 64 3000 Socket 754 Retail
1gb Mushkin DDR400 Value
ATI Radeon X800XL (stock) AGP
Antec TruePower 430W (26A on the 12V rail)

New components from monacharch (no tax, yay):

AsRock Dual Socket 939 Board
AMD Opteron 165 Retail (plan on using stock cooler)

So how easy will it be for it to do 2.4ghz? I want to keep voltage at stock if I can. (will add if I need to achieve my goal)

That board will only go up to 274 HTT and 1.45v without mods.

But that should easily get your 165 up to 2.4 but don't expect much more than that

I'm using that board right now with the OCW3 bios and an Opteron 146@2.7GHz

Yes it does, set the memory speed to 166 mhz in the bios to put it into place.

2.4 shouldn't be too hard with those components. Consider spending $30 on a thermalright xp-90 though, it is well worth the money :)

DOn't the oppys come with the heatpipe HS?? I think that saving the $$ and just relying on the Heatpipe HS is good enough :)
