That's interesting. I've not paid that much attention to kaby lake; does it require a new chipset ?
 
Not strictly. There are new 1151 chipset releases that coincide with 7th Gen Core release, but older 1151 boards should be able to take KBL CPUs, with a BIOS flash.

The problem is more OS compatibility, especially video drivers. KBL has no official support in Win7, from either Intel or MS.
