I have an ASRock motherboard that I RMA'd back to newegg twice and after 2 months I had a working machine, last february. It died on me last night.

Not going with ASRock for a few more iterations.

Ive had my asrock 939 motherboard for 3 years and it still works like the day I got it.

I'll also vouch for having had good ASROCK experiences. I've had both an ASROCK 939 and ASROCK socket-A which worked just fine until they were decommissioned. I OC'ed both also.

Over my 15 years of building machines, every manufacture I've dealt with has had more than one RMA. There is just a certain percentage of failures when dealing with complex layouts and cutting edge technology. Now are the percentages as high as the Failed Tiger Direct rebates of 2004, I don't know.

In my opinion, you're more likely to get an RMA with a just released chipset where the kinks haven't been worked out yet. Asrock seems to have taken an older chipset and found a way to run it efficiently. First to market first to RMA.

I've found Asrock motherboards to be good. The only annoyance is neither of the two motherboards I have support changing the fan speeds via software which really blows. That kind of thing Asus (Asrock parent, right?) supports so you loose some frills sometimes. Maybe with this level of board it is no longer the case.

How do you determine stock levels @ the egg for a specific item?

Try adding 999 of the item or whatever the max is. I just tried 400 of these motherboards and the cart said there were only 58 available.

Haven't received mine but from the manual page 50

CPU Quiet Fan
This item allows you to identify the temperature of CPU fan. If you set this
option as [Disabled], the CPU fan will operate in full speed. If you set this
option as [Enabled], you will find the items ?Target CPU Temperature
( C)?, ?Tolerance ( C)?, and ?Minimun Fan Speed? appear to allow you
adjusting them. The default value is [Disabled]. You are allowed to enable
this function only when you install 4-pin CPU fan.
Target CPU Temperature ( C)
The target temperature will be between 45 C and 65 C. The default
value is [50].
Tolerance ( C)
The default value of tolerance is [2], which means the error of the
target CPU temperature will be within 2 C.
Target Fan Speed
Use this option to set the target fan speed. You can freely adjust the
target fan speed according to the target CPU temperature that you
choose. Configuration options: [Level 1], [Level 2], [Level 3], [Level 4],
[Level 5], [Level 6] [Level 7], [Level 8] and [Level 9].
