I was trying to transfer 14GB from a USB 2.0 thumb drive to a USB 3.0 external platter based drive and kept getting BSOD about half way through. I also had a BSOD when just surfing with Firefox 5.

This is a new build about a week old. Searched google and found this post with similar issue and pointing to a new USB driver from Etron found here:

I was skeptical because the driver was on a file share site not the Etron web site, but it passed virus scan and Windows 7 accepted it as a legit driver for the USB controller. After installing I tried again to transfer huge amounts from USB to USB and had no more BSOD during file transfer or otherwise.

I did all transfers with many small files and also some large single files. Also the thumb drive was plugged directly in to the motherboard and the USB3 external drive was using the 18" fat cable that came with it.

I still need to monitor for long term stability but just fyi in case others have this issue and want to try this driver.
