I need help, or a gun to put me out of my misery...ha
Onboard sound issues with the ASRock P55 Deluxe 3. Here is the motherboard http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=P55 Deluxe3 (looks like you might have to copy and paste that, the URL ends with the 3 of "deluxe3")
I have been messing with drivers, bios, google, manuals...cables...and tons of crap for the past 8 or so hours. I recently set this pc up on my home entertainment system, and there is no sound through the optical SPDIF, only the coaxial. I have changed the audio to the correct settings everywhere possible and tried disabling everything except what I wanted. It seems the OS (Windows 7 64 bit) isn't even detecting it. Under jack information in playback devices it only lists the coaxial connector and there is no light coming out of the port, indicating no signal. I really would like to get the optical working but so far all I have working is the lid of some ibuprofen and google...
What I have tried:
Thank you!

What I have tried:
- Updating Drivers
- Updating Bios
- Reading the Manual
- Bios Settings
- Disabling Other Devices
- Formatting and installing only the necessary drivers for the sound
- Different optical cables
- Different optical ports on my home reciever
- Glaring and Screaming at the screen
- Smashing my keyboard
Thank you!
