ASRock integrated Intel wireless NIC problems

I have an ASRock X370 Taichi. It features an integrated Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 NIC. Even using the latest drivers directly from Intel, I can't get this thing to operate at anything faster than 802.11b speeds. I currently have it disabled in favor of an old Asus 802.11n USB NIC.

My previous setup used a generic Rosewill 802.11ac PCIe NIC, and it got connection speeds in the 200-300 Mbps range, with most connections trending towards 200.

The router is a Netgear 6300v2.

Do any other ASRock boards use the same Intel wireless? What do I have to do to get this thing running right?

Maybe the Intel M.2 WiFi doesn't yet have drivers that work well in combination with AMD CPU's?

I have the latest firmware for the router, so that is not an issue. I had hoped to avoid an external module since the 3168 is integrated into the motherboard. My USB NIC will have to do for now.

Did you enable WMM?
If that is, (though you already probably looked at this...) are your settings as they specify here? https://communities.intel.com/thread/59726
Also, you using win 10?

I am using Win10. I can not identify any WMM setting on the 6300v2 interface, unless their name for it is "Wireless Router Radio", which is enabled by default.

I'll poke around in that thread you posted and see if I can find something useful in there.

I could be wrong, but that WiFi module (which came with the motherboard) appears to be a removable, socketed mini-sized card that can be replaced with another of the same form-factor.

Hmm I'll have to look. It may be inaccessible due to my heatsink mount at this time.

Update: I finally found the WMM setting in my router. Enabling it and disabling the bluetooth elements of the device got speeds wayyyyyyyyy up there:
