Guys
I noticed this motherboard has dual LAN with teaming.

Please correct me if I am wrong:

- The motherboard was two gigabit ethernet ports. The router I am going to use is this one:

https://www.tp-link.com/uk/products/details/Archer-VR900.html#specifications

Let's assume I already used all 4 LAN ports from this modem+router

And I want to connect another device to the VR900. For example, a laptop. Or an iPAD:

If I connect the CAT-6 ethernet cable to one of the 2 gigabit ethernet ports from the ASRock Fatal1ty Z370 Gaming K6 will I be able to access the internet? Or I am required to do that by plugging into the VR900?

It's not clear to me if this additional ethernet port from the motherboard can work as a 5th LAN port.

I am unsure of what, exactly, are you trying to ask.

you have 2 ports on the MB and either one will work when connected to the router.

If you are asking if you connect the MB to the router, can you connect something else via Ethernet cable to the other Ethernet port on the MB and will that device connect to the internet through the router; then the answer is technically yes. You will be using some form of ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Windows will act as a router to route the traffic from the "device" through the other Ethernet port to the internet.

That's it... I have another question: can I use some sort of switch to expand the modem-router (VR900) and add more LAN ports?

Is there some sort of gigabit switch out there that can do this job? That way I won't need to turn the PC on to use these additional ports. I'll only need to let the switch connected to the energy to do this task.

What equipment do you recommend? I'll need more ports because all 4 from the VR900 will be used, and I might eventually need to connect more devices using ethernet CAT-6 cables.

VirtualLarry is correct. Just buy a good gigabit switch with the required number of ethernet ports.

FWIW 28/48 port managed switches are super cheap on ebay used. The HP ones even have a lifetime warranty. Way better than a cheapo chinese one you'd get for the same price if you have room for it.
