Supposedly this board (based on the ULi 1695 core logic) is a 939 but has support for M2 via some form of socket included with the board?

It will have support, but you will need to buy an extra board to plug into it, which will be hard to find.

You will be better off getting a whole new mobo.

You're right, I was trying to imply that ECS and ASRock were in a similiar low-price category but I made the thread title wrong.

ASRock Is the Oditity boards for ASUS. If they are ever forced into another K7M white box Fiasco this will be the Name they will use for those as well.

Looking over the Website what it basically says is there is a upgrade Slot (or Riser Slot) for possible M2 upgrading. This will end up being like those old Overdrive PCI upgrades, It should have the Socket M, memory slots (because the onboard memory controller may not support DDR(1), this may even include an updated northbridge. Nice Idea but I would strongly not recommend using this for M2 upgradability. Instead of Paying $50 for this specialized Riser spend $50 more and just get a M2 mobo and call it a day.
