The issue is that there is no video upon boot. CPU fan, video fan, hard drive and cd rom all spin up during power up. I have tried 2 different AGP cards (both known to be working) and 3 different monitors ( all known to be working). I plugged in a set of powered speakers into the front speaker port and there are absolutely no beeps. I also noticed that it doesn't light the numlock or caps lock lights on my keyboard (known to be working). I have tried resetting the BIOS.

CPU = A64 3000+ (Winchester)
Memory = 2 x 512MB Corsair CMX512-3200C2PT (in the blue slots).
FWIW. Also tried 1 memory stick and also in the black slots.

Nothing seems to work and I'm at a loss to figure out what is wrong. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks,
John

I'd try a bare post outside the case with just one stick of memory, cpu/heatsink, and video. Be sure your power switch lead is connected, and the 4 pin 12v lead. I use a phonebook for a non conductive surface. Connect the speaker lead from the case to hear beep codes.

Thanks for your suggestion. Shorting out on the case was the only other thing I could imagine and that was my next (and really final) test. Before I did that though I tried moving memory sticks around "one last time" and magically it posts with one or both sticks in the black slots. So I guess I was a little bleary eyed last night after a week on the road and must not have ACTUALLY tried the memory in the black slots. Currently oc'ed at 2.4Ghz/1.45V (9x270, 4x HTT), mem@5:6 multi 2.5-4-4-4-10-12-1T volt=High(2.7V I think). I think that's all she got in her without a volt mod or two. It's a little goofy though after it posted, I unplugged it and moved locations for better lighting and had to reset the BIOS before it would even power up. Oh well, what do you want for $70, right?

thanks again,
John
