Sorry for the blank post! Now for the real answer!
If your SATA HDD is plugged into the SATA1 or SATA2 controllers you don't need any SATA drivers. I installed winXP on my SATA HDD just fine without them. The SATA1&2 controllers are 'native' to the ULI chipset and don't need them. If your SATA HDD is plugged into the Jmicron SATA controller you will need the drivers if the Jmicron is set to SATA in bios; but you don't need them if set to IDE in BIOS.
Just use the SATA1 controller as I did, it should install just fine.

I am assuming that you are only using one hard drive. If you want to use 2 hard drives in a RAID configuration you will need the SATA drivers.
In this case you will have to make the SATA floppy on another computer.

i am using 2 hard drives for raid-0. so i need sata drivers to instal before installing OS (in win xp instalation sreen asks - if you need to install third party raid or scsi drivers press F6)

i can not make sata floppy as i do not have the CD that comes with the mainboard. if i try to run sata drivers on another computer it tries to install them on that computer not make floppy.

that is why i need some one who has a CD to make floppy for me and send it

comon there is no asrock dual sata owner that can use 5 minutes of their time and make sata floppy for your fellow enthusiast???

Can't you do it yourself? download asrock drivers and take the SATA winXP drivers that are there and put them in a floppy, it is very easy 😉

i dont believe i can do that sata driver i downloaded from asrosk is one exe file 2.5 mb in size and that is it. i tried unpacking it with no luck. so 2.5mb does not fit on flopy and if i try to run it it tries to install the drivers and do not give any other options

ok i finaly figured it out. ran the driver on my other cpu and then it was unpacking pressed print sreen. then searcher for the file and found it in temp directory. there was instructions on making fdd and nesecery files.

so i just finished instaling os into my new rig 🙂

now i am off ot taho to ski. will finish up after i come back on sartuday

thanks everyone
