I know there are a few similar threads, but I seem to be having different troubles...

Basically I was having the problem others were having - a 15 second or so delay while booting while loading drives - I fixed that by switching ide ports (so the cd and dvd are on the second port) (Bolded for people who have that problem). Now everything loads, then I get a black screen with a flashing space (like you get in DOS) for 2-3 seconds before the windows logo comes up.

LOL, boy will I laugh if this fixes everyone's cold boot problems. It says so quite clearly on the motherboard (by the IDE ports) to do this. Reading instructions 4tw.

Yea, it does clearly say in the instructions to put opticals on IDE2.

OP, I'm not sure I understand your problem now. Is it working now and the only issues is the 2-3 sec. delay, or is not even fully booting Windows?

The 2 -3 second delay hes talking about his normal AFAIK. It's searching for boot devices. So it sounds like he doesn't have a problem anymore.
