I just put together the following system and I'm having some problems getting the ram to run at correct speeds.
Intel Celeron D 326 (waiting for E6600)
ASrock ConRoeXFire-eSATA2 (waiting for more options)
2GB Mushkin XP2-6400
The motherboard is supposed to support ddr2-667 but it does not show up as an option in the BIOS. So the memory is running at ddr2-533. I asked ASrock tech support and I got back a jumbled english response saying that it wont auto detect at 667 because the ram that I have is a faster speed (ddr2-800). I understand that it may not auto detact at the highest supported speed but why is it not even an option in the BIOS? Everything I have read said that there is no downside to running faster ram then necessary. Besides that everything is working OK, its just frustrating that my expensive ram is running so slow. Thanks for any help you can give me.
