Newegg must be feeling the pressure from the boycott and bad press. Price drops on many GPUs and CPUs.

$499.99+9.99 shipping+ tax If they charge tax where you live.

Wait, we're boycotting NewEgg now? I just hadn't heard that.

Their Shuffle (when it happens) have been terrible.

Slickdeals had a link to a 3060Ti for $609+9.99+tax as well @ NewEgg as another example of semi-rational pricing.

The Gamers Nexus Incident, as I shall refer to it, has resulted in a serious blowback for Newegg. LTT and Jayz2cents also jumped in, and with how many millions of viewers they have between them, saying it went viral is an understatement. Now if you check places like PCMR, the hate is strong. Don't buy from Newegg is the mantra now.

I think Newegg having some of the most aggressive pricing now, is because of the grass roots movement against them. Everyone that ever had a problem with the egg, has now come out of the woodwork to show you on the doll where Newegg touched them.

I have been doing biz with them for 20yrs, probably at or very close to 6 figures spent there, and yet to have an issue. They had a replace for same item only, otherwise 15% restock fee policy, when I bought my 5700xt. It was reference and preordered, and also a hot mess. I was forced to return it. Well, a quick chat box with a CS rep, and brief BRB from them, and they waved their policy and gave me store credit as per my request.

I never had need to return a mobo though, which is where most seem to have had the shenanigans occur. Jay claims it was so bad he drop them as a vendor.

Anyhow this card is good bang for buck right now. It sits between the 3060 and 3060ti.

You are asking too much. There are threads here in the forums about it. Member on serve the home forums has a very brief TLDR that covers the gist of the drama.

TLDR GN bought "open box" mb, didn't need it by time it made its way to his place, didn't even open shipping box, RMA'd as is, his RMA denied many times due to, quote "thermal pate" and bent pins. Phone calls, emails, chats all to no avail. No refund or MB back until GN tweeted at them at which point they did immediately refund. But kinda long overdue.
His next followup video is about the RMA sticker left on MB, that he did check up with manufacturer, and they told him newegg refused offer to fix MB socket for $100 and asked manufacturer to send it back to them. After which, it magically appeared on the website under "open box" listing and lucky customer for that was Steve.

As for UFD tech story, they offered to pay him 3 times more the amount they were overdue for something like a year or more for sponsored videos. After he tweeted at them. And also didn't send CPU to the winner of the charity stream for 6 months. In the end, person who was always or mostly always on CC list on all of this blamed someone else who also was on CC list but left the company.
That's a short version.

I don't know. I have the feeling it has more to do with the gradual and overdue decline in graphics princes everywhere.

Newegg has been among the worst N.A. retail scalpers. You don't find the timing noteworthy? Huge negative stories break about them, and now suddenly, they are undercutting every other outlet on pricing for the most sought after hardware.. Yeah yeah, correlation doesn't equal causation. But this is human behavior we are talking about, and that is far messier and more illogical.

Is it the only factor? Certainly not, but I think it is one of the primary factors for why they suddenly have the BBDs.

499.99 - 6600 XT. (its still even in stock which is absolutely amazing.)

Yes i admit we should boycott newegg, but again... 499.99 - 6600XT @ an authorized distrtibutor, and not from a shady scalper.
Unless you get one and it comes with seal broken used, thats one HELL of a price for a 6600XT.
