ASROCK AB350 Pro4 bios question

Users of this motherboard, what is your overall experience with it and what do you think of the bios options.

I read about ASRock Internet Flash.
Is this option a means to let the board download and update its bios ?
Can this be turned off ?
Is this an option that on its own makes contact with the asrock servers or do you as users have to invoke it first ?
I prefer the latter for safety reasons.

Silly question :
XFR ?
Can it be turned off in the bios ?

Don't have that board, but it's usually either in BIOS itself or as part of motherboard software. In both cases, you have to initiate it yourself.

ASRock's Internet Flash does have to be initiated manually. It isn't like the thing that was bricking C6Hs earlier in the year.

I think XFR is internal to the CPU firmware, and I do not think there is a UEFI option to deactivate it. I'm pretty sure there isn't any direct way to deactivate it in the Taichi UEFI. You might have to turn off the power saving modes.

In have this board. My experience has been excellent.

As others have said, the fishing over the internet bit only happens if you manually tell it findings...which I never do. If you did want to you would just make sure the internet connection is set up for any specialnsettings you need but for most, the auto settings would be fine. Then it would just connect to ASROCK to download. Butnthisnseems risky to me for any number of reasons so I don't do it.

As far As I know there are no settings for XFR that are user configurable. But I'm assuming its disabled when you over clock which I did right out of the box.
