I've been looking into the HDMI In port on the new ASRock Z87 mobo's and I was wondering if someone more knowledgeable than I would know if this technology has the potential to display within a window in the OS instead of just swapping the fullscreen picture.
As an example, could one hook up a game console and display the output into a window within Windows? I'd love to be able to essentially alt-tab between my console game window and my desktop or browser window. As it stands right now, they are only demoing the tech to be able to switch between full screen output and it seems to take a long time at that (just as easy to press the input toggle on my monitor).
