I'm building a new PC with an AMD FX-6300 CPU, XFX HD 7870 GPU, and the ASRock 970 Extreme3 motherboard. When I do an external build with just CPU, RAM, and video card installed, I get 5 beeps on start-up. Most people that I've asked seem to think that 5 beeps is a CPU issue, but the only thing close to official documentation from ASRock that I can find is this, on their site FAQ,
http://www.asrock.com/support/qa/TSDQA-84.pdf
which states that 5 beeps means "no VGA card." When I turn the system on, all fans spin -- CPU cooler and video card, and the CPU heatsink grows warm, so I don't think that the CPU is a problem? What's going on here?
Before anyone asks, I've tried all of this:
-re-seat CPU and RAM
-re-seat video card in both PCI-E slots
-reset BIOS, by both jumper and battery removal methods
-try booting with one RAM DIMM, and using different slots
