Asrock 939NF4G-SATA2 POST Problem

I have a minor problem with my new mobo. About every three powerups, the board will stop at the end of a POST. There is a "0075" displayed in the bottom right of the screen. I assume that's a POST code. When it happens, I just cycle power or CtrlAltDel and it boots fine.
If anyone out there knows what this POST code is, I'd appreciate it. I've sent a message to Asrock, but who knows if they'll send any response.

To be fair, I haven't updated the BIOS yet. Everything else is stable.

BTW: This is the fastest starting board I've seen. Nice mobo

BIOS 1.3 is onchip right now.

For the curious: The firmware version of my board appears to be 1.05. One of the reasons I bought it was that it wasn't a "1.0" firmware board.

I don't have this board, but I have the ASsRock Dual-SATA2 one where I also had this error occur a lot (i.e. stopping on POST at 0075). The problem with me was that the SATA HDD wasn't being detected.

That's pretty much the problem, it POSTs TOO FAST, so fast that it doesn't detect the SATA HDD properly on power up. I hear that it's due to the HDD not having enough time to spin up. Check in your BIOS to see if you can make your POST longer somehow. I have a ULI chipset BIOS, don't remember name, so I doubt I have same options as an NF4. Pretty much look for some quick-POST option and disable it. It might work, might not, who knows...

By the way, good luck with their support. I've mailed tech. support twice, no answer in person.

Perhaps a POST code of 0075 means the motherboard was unable to read the config info for a device prior to completion of POST.
But the only way we'd know for sure is if Asrock will tell us.
Doesn't look like there are any options in BIOS 1.3 to delay a POST until the devices are fully powered up.
I'll have to try a later BIOS and see what happens.

FYI: Got a reply from AsRock regarding the POST code. Their reply makes me believe that they either don't read the support questions completely, or they don't understand English very well.

Anyway, at least I know that a POST code of 0075 is hard drive related.

BTW: Upgrading to the latest BIOS seems to reduce the occurence of this error significantly. :)

Dear ASRock Customer,

Post code 0075 indicates there might be an issue with the HDD. Please verify if the power and data cables were connected properly.
