ASRock 939Dual-SATA2, SATAII and IDE drives

I upgraded my parents computer w/ new case, MB, mem, CPU, and HD. At the end is my setup
The problem is the IDE drive extremely slows down my computer.
When installing Win XP on the new SATAII drive I switched the SATAII in BIOS to IDE mode so I wouldn't need a startup disk. The install went fine, changed the SATAII back to SATA mode, and everything works fine.
But when I add the IDE drive, and still keep the SATAII drive as the boot drive, it literally adds about 2-3 mins. to bootup, w/o takes maybe 30 secs. from power up. Most of the time is from BIOS display to the windows startup display screen.
IDE drive primary master
IOMEGA CDRW secondary master

Any ideas? ... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 Socket 939 ULi M1695
AMD 64 3000+ Venice
Enermax 465W
OCZ Enhanced Latency 1GB (2 x 512MB) PC3200
Seagate 7200.9 ST3160812AS 160GB
Maxtor 740UL (?) 20GB

If it was me and unless I was desparate for drive space, I would take the IDE drive out and sell it if I could.

Solution could be much quicker/simpler than that though....but I need to know the brand.

The HD's are:
Seagate 7200.9 ST3160812AS 160GB SATAII
Maxtor 740UL (?) 20GB ATA
Did you want to know the exact model of the Maxtor HD?... I'm not not going to my parents till this weekend so I don't know the exact model.
Maybe I should just replace the IDE HD with a new SATA one. Too bad the MB only supports 1 SATAII.
But if you have a solution I would like to try it.
