I did a search before I posted. Does anyone know when the expansion board for this board will be available? Is the purpose for the expansion board just so you can add another CPU? Lastly, does it have to be an identical CPU? Thanks.

Sincerely,

They haven't announced a specific date, but it'll probably be summer, around the introduction of Socket AM2. The board, as you might imagine, is for socket AM2 CPU's only, and you can only run one CPU at a time (you switch a bunch of jumpers on the motherboard to switch from the onboard Socket 939 to the Socket AM2 on the riser card...

So what's the advantage? I was under the impression that it was designed to run dual CPU's at the same time for better performance.

Sincerely,
Hans

It just lets you run new cpus based on the am2 socket and to install ddrII ram without buying a new motherboard.
