asrock 890gx pro3 and radeon 7950... compatible? no video output from gfx card

I got my new gigabyte radeon 7950 today... I uninstalled the geforce drivers and popped the radeon in but now I get no video output. The fans spin up on the gfx card but I get no video output whatsoever. I put the geforce back in and it works perfectly. Any idea what the problem could be? Or is it just time to rma the card :/

Asrock 890gx pro 3 motherboard, gigabyte radeon 7950, running windows 7 64 bit, any other specs needed just ask!

Please help I'm frustrated:/

I am r running dvi to a monitor if that makes a difference.
