I've flashed the bios to the latest version, and changed the video aperature to 256mb...it freezes 2 seconds into POST.

HELP!

$200 down the drain if i cant get it to work...cant return the video card unless its defective. it works in my dell optiplex but not with the other.

thanks in advance!

Hmm, I suspect that would be sufficient, unless you have a lot of other Drives or power hungry cards. You have all Power Connectors plugged in?(don't know whether that card has a Power Socket or not)

Might be a good idea to go to the Asrock Website and see if there is a known issue with that vid card. Might be a Bios setting you need. Is there a Voltage setting in your Bios for PCI-e/AGP bus? If there is, try upping that. Upping your CPU voltage might also work.

scoured the net for info on compatibility issues...reset the bios again and reset the aperature and voltage to high (high and low are the only options). There's only 1 optical and 1 hdd, and nothing else plugged in.

I've been repairing computers for 4 years, and this one stumps me.

swapped my trusty enermax noisetaker 420 for a generic hunk of crap 430w and it works...so strange.

anywho...thanks for your help...lol

hehe, a vaguely remember some PS/Video card weirdness/incompatibility talked about in the past. This might be one of the Power Supplies involved, but I don't remember.
