So I was thinking of going with the Asrock 775 with the new E6400 but I was wondering how much if any I would be able to overclock the E6400 with 2G DDR1 Samsung Ram.

Thoughts Please...?

you should, hopefully you may be able to reach 2.3-2.4 or more. But asrock is not exactly meant for ocing and won't do much, anyway, be careful and beware.

You will be able to overclock a little bit only, around 300FSB (2.4GHz for an E6400). These boards aren't designed for overclocking - you get what you pay for I guess. Still, for the price it can't be beat, and it supports AGP + DDR too which deserves kudos.

Is overclocking by that little really going to give me much performance benifit? I read an article on Toms hardware today regarding the E6400.

I could always upgrade the motherboard somewhere down the line when I get enough money to upgrade to a PCI-e card and DDR2 Ram. I was thinking of holding onto the E6400 until that time because apparently it overclocks well on a better board.

Again...Thoughts?
