Aspire X-Dreamer II

I was wondering how good of a case this would be for a entry level gaming computer?

I read a lot of good things about it on the web and on newegg. Then I came here and posted a thread about PSU's and someone said to never buy anything from ASPIRE.

I was wondering why there would be so many positive things said about this case everywhere else, and then little attention to it here on the forums.

Any insight would be helpful. Thanks.

Don't always trust user reviews. They are nice, and help you get an idea of what you are buying but the truth is those user reviews are mostly from people that have little experience.

ASPIRE is known to have low quality power supplies. I have had 2 of them arrive to me DOA and one died within months of installation. Personally, I would never buy a case that comes with a power supply (or at least I would replace it) unless it is from a more reputable brand such as Antec.

A decent PS will usually run $75-$100+. So when you are spending $50 on a case AND a PS, quality is VERY questionable.

Anyway, I have never personally worked with the X-Dreamer II, but It looks as though it will get the job done (entry level speaking). Just remember you get what you pay for.

The inside looks similar to the X-infinity case that ordered for a friend a few years back. It should work fine. There may be a few sharp edges though.

I am currently using the Aspire XDreamer 2....its a good entry level case and has adequate cooling possibilitues!!

But it has 2 -- 80mm fans for the bottom front to blow over your hearddrives!
But what I did was installed one 120mm fan and secured it with zip ties....its a lot quieter that way!!

Also Aspire PSU`s are just plain junk.
I seriously would stay away from Aspire PSU`s.

get a fortron or a Zippy or even dare I say an Antec PSU!!!
If you want to spend some money on your PSU get a Seasonic...or even a OCZ brand.

If money is no object then get what I have a PCP&C Turbo Cool 510 deluxe.

Also just a note there have been some bad caps floating around in the Antec and Seasonic brands......FYI!!

I already ordered the case from newegg along with the fortron psu.

What does your back of the case look like with the zipties?
