ASP.NET Machine A...

I just have a really basic question about the accounts on my WinXP Home SP2 PC. I only have three accounts: mine, an administrator; Guest, which came on with the installation is is turned off; and ASP.NET Machine A..., which is described as a password protected limited account. What is this account? How did it get on my machine?

Also, whenever I startup my PC, it makes me go through the Welcome screen, even though my account is the only one listed and I don't have a password on it. Is this because of the ASP.NET Machine A... account being present? If I get rid of this account, will it make it so I don't have to go through the Welcome screen anymore? What else will it change on my PC?

Thanks.

EDIT: Spelling.

That account is normal and part of the .NET install, do not remove it. If you want to skip the welcome screen, you can use tweakui to log your account in automatically.

SP1 for .NET 1.1 should correct the welcome screen problem. I think it is listed as a critical update on WU anyway.

You only need that account when running web apps locally. I'm surprised the .net redistributable installed that account, should only install it when a web server is present or when using dev tools (that come with a web server).

In my control panel, I have the following:

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB886903)
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0

There are no updates for .NET that show up on Microsoft Update.

However, I just found that I can get WMP 11, so I'm going to go do that...
